I'm with you Ben. I married my soul mate and we have a great marriage, and it is an "act of God." My whole life turned around is an act of God.
There is also something more, the triumph of human character emerges in the face of tragedy. For the first time ever, they are discussing building codes and requirements for building structures in Haiti. In the wake of this tragedy, perhaps cardboard wont suffice for building products. Tragedy, yes, spotlighting the poverty and need in Haiti yes! Here's the chance for change, for helping needs and for spreading the gospel.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. And I agree with not knowing anything!! Being acquainted with walking a road that wasn't planned, I've thought alot it and remain convinced of the only conclusion possible, that God is good and cannot be put in a neat package. But even when what would be good doesn''t happen? Even when the opposite of a good thing desired happens? Yes. That's the road of faith. A road that doesn't have an attractive gate or a menu on the door. It probably woudn't be picked based upon appearances but holds precious jewels come by no other way. Isn't that like God? Unpredictable, unimaginable, unfathomable, not appealing to the senses, yet as close as the very air breathed in the midst of tragedy.

Yep. I'm totally with you. There is no good in us that could deserve any good that He does for us.

I think the only things we have to lose where undeservedly given to us by him. At times like these people look at the half empty and ask "God why didn't you" Instead of looking at the half full and saying "Why did you" and "Thank you"

My recent post <a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Fingertoe/~3/lRIwunQIiB4/keeping-health-care-costs-down.html" target="_blank">Keeping health care costs down...</a>
