Greatness. I love how Phil uses the chorus/flanger just on that walk-up run. So tasteful. Oh, and Truby's playing rhythm on a Gibson SG the whole time, and he takes solos at 4:00 and 6:30, though he's not up in the mix. It's Kenny Greenberg that plugs in the Strat at 4:10. I've never heard of him. Good Lord, the Phil solo at 6:00 is insane.

Jason Truby is one of the great unnoticed gems in the world of guitar players. He never shows off as much as he could, and he made Living Sacrifice and P.O.D. into musical powerhouses. Before he joined POD, they were just a rap/rock group. He brought an amazing musicality to them, as heard on their album Testify. I think Testify will be POD's all-time greatest album. He's since left POD to pursue an acoustic album, and was replaced by POD's original guitarist, Marcus Curiel.

If you're into heavier music, make sure you check out Living Sacrifice's early work, while Truby was still with them. That was a band that understood the power of heavy music, and used it to proclaim Biblical truth with an amazing amount of authority. I think the Living Sacrifice album, "Reborn" is my favorite from that era.

Phil has become known on the internet as the Rock Man, and you can see why. So many people think of him as just a great acoustic guitar player, which he is, but he's also unsurpassed as a blues rock guitarist.
