New Worship Project at KCC
// September 8th, 2008 // Church Life, Humor, Video
At KCC, we are always trying to understand the culture in which we live and reach it with the gifts and talents that we have been given. We have been blessed with a number of talented musicians and singers. We also have an excellent stage design team that does some amazing things visually from stage design to costuming.
Check out this video of our band from a recent outreach.

Wow, I’m practically speechless! I will have to say that I love the bass, I love his wide open shirt, how he sings that he’s singing “rock and roll” and the guitarists wonderful dancing. It’s got a nice polka beat, Ben!
Oh yes, and those classy glasses and ruffled blue blouses. Mhm.
Thanks for the word of encouragement, Jan. We are really blessed to have Eric Estrada on our worship team.
I contributed that line to the song. I think it works well, don’t you think?
Ben…
After seeing your worship team here… We’ll, I think I’ll be having an acute appendicitis attack that Sunday I was going to play at your church, so I won’t be able to make it.
Then again, I do have that old Partridge Family costume from trick-or-treat in the fifth grade.
O.K. – I’ll still come! And I’ll be working on the chords to that song.
Just watching this video brings back a flood of emotions. We worked so hard on that song and the night we recorded it for TV we were under such intense spiritual attack that I thought we weren’t going to make it.
Then Ben came into the studio and encouraged us with a lyric he felt like the Lord had given him for the song. “Jesus is like a Mounty. He always gets His man. And He’ll zap you any way He can. Zap!”
He also suggested some ways to look at the camera to evoke emotion.
The song suddenly came alive to us. And that was when we knew that the song would change lives forever. We were totally up for it. We felt brave, and compelled by the call of God to minister this song of encouragement.
Ah, what a sweet time of worship it was that night. We have a great team.
If Chip comes dressed in his Partridge Family digs I want a picture – but make sure Melody has the ruffly blouse, please, and the lovely blue eye shadow. I want to hear that Rock and Roll!
Mavericks, I tell ya!
Thanks for all the compliments, guys. I worked long and hard on that guitar solo. Isn’t that a groovy effect? We really rocked that mounty groove.
That was such a powerful time of exultation! I’m so glad that there was a strong hedge of protection around the Casio organ that day. Without it, we would have been hosed!
hilarious. simply hilarious. also, I would like to know when Chip leads worship at your church!
Chip’s coming on Oct. 19th. Everybody come! We’ll have a little reunion in K-Town!
THIS SONG IS STILL STUCK IN MY HEAD! Aaaaagggghhh!!!!
[...] addition to our killer new worship band, we also have a heart to combine music with the art of dance. And we’re not talking about [...]
