Driscoll on the Emerging Church
// January 10th, 2008 // Church Life
I’ve had several people ask me recently about the Emerging Church. It’s a question I get a lot.
I’m not an expert on the “movement”, but I’ve done a lot of reading about it because a lot of what they do intrigues me. It’s also very confusing since the labels seem to change all the time.
The clearest and most helpful thing I have heard on the topic is from Mark Driscoll. There was a conference in 2007 at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he did a thorough (and humbly direct) exposition on the topic. He was a part of things at the beginning (isn’t any longer) so his perspective is enlightening.
Here is the audio. If you want to download it, you can visit SEBTS and download it for free.

Here’s the Q&A – Thanks, Josh.

The audio of the Q&A at that same conference was also very good. Don’t miss it!
I’ve added the Q&A audio to the post.
Also, I noticed that SEBTS audio links don’t work if you are using Firefox as your web browser. tsk, tsk, tsk.
IE works fine, though.
