Weekend Thoughts
It’s been an eventful week. We finally signed a contract on our house. Like everything else with the sale of this house, it was a struggle but eventually worked out. It’s a contingency contract so we are now waiting for the sale of another house…
Some bullet points and video for the weekend:
- Delirious gave away another free download today from their website. Just log in to the Living Room section. It’s their rendition of “Silent Night”. Very Cool. There’s also some Christmas music at MyFreeMusicFriday if you aren’t on their mailing list yet (Jars of Clay, Todd Agnew, and Christy Nockles this week).
. - Owen fell again last night. This time the corner of his left eye hit the metal edge of Kaitlyn’s bed. He has an impressive shiner this morning. He’s such a little stud. He was running around playing and laughing last night with blood coming down his face. It was like he didn’t even notice.
- Finished my father-in-law’s website yesterday.
- Lore Sjöberg writes about the abysmal state of television these days. It’s hilarious. I’m seriously about to cancel cable and throw the tv into the backyard. The kids are hoping I finish my sermon series on idolatry quickly… ;-)
- Our new neighbors moved in this week. They put one of those glass orbs on a stand in their front yard. It’s purple. Underneath it are several smaller glass orbs in the grass around it. Kinda like the bigger one had little orb babies. If you have a glass orb in your yard, could you explain this to me, please? I see them all the time, but have yet to understand the appeal. Is it just me, or is this the modern equivalent to plastic pink flamingos?
- Don’t believe in the sovereignty of God? Here’s another example… We had our fire inspection this week at KCC. We realized the night before that our fire extinguishers had not been inspected in time. That meant that we would be written up by the Fire Marshal the next morning. I got to the church at 9:45am to meet the Fire Marshall at 10:30am. At 10:00 a guy shows up to inspect the fire extinguishers. He left 5 minutes before the Fire Marshall showed up early. No one called the fire extinguisher guy. I checked. He just showed up. RIGHT ON TIME. God cares about the “small” stuff too.
- I had a cold last week. This video properly demonstrates the appropriate response of a doting wife. Needless to say, this is nowhere close to how things played out at my house! ;-)
