Weekend Thoughts

I’m going to combine the random thoughts bullets with the Friday video. Doing the bullet points is fun to write and I think more fun to read on Friday than just a video. Don’t worry. I’ll still include a video in the post each week…

  • The photo gallery is back online! It’s just our family photos so it may not be of much interest to most of you, but I’ve had people ask about it since I took it offline months ago. You can follow the previous link, or click the icon in the right sidebar. If you’re interested in hosting your own photo gallery, Gallery2 is the BEST.
  • It’s finally started raining here and my grass is turning brown. I don’t get it. This has to be some kind of practical joke. I’ve kept it green all through this drought and then it finally starts raining and it starts dying. I may just finish it off with a RoundUp bath.

  • Claire wrote a hilarious post about the crazy things people do (or maybe it’s just her friends that do crazy things…). Claire is one of my favorite bloggers.
  • In case anyone cares… Since the blog crash, we lost about 100 visitors a day. :-( It was down for over a week and that’s like 20 years in internet time so it’s to be expected. I was getting between 150 and 200 visitors a day and now we are peaking at about 80. It’s slowly climbing back up each day, though. My theory is that it will eventually go over 200 because Heather is attracting all these mom bloggers now. This is assuming all of my previous readers come back to the fold.
  • Here is a video of a guy who proposed to his fiance in a VERY creative way. The video is really well done too.

Have a Great Weekend!

    Ben. Ben. Ben.

The “What’s the deal with Jesus” link is just plain genius. You’ll see something similar on my site, labeled “The Gospel”. We’re both using the Driscoll presentation, with one exception.

Mine is an external link to a myspace.com/video page and yours is embedded internally. You have got to tell me how you did that. Please Please Please. I hate to beg, but I will.

    You don’t have to beg…

If you view the video on Mars Hill’s website, they give you all kinds of options for delivering the video. Download in various formats, embed code, etc. They are really generous with their media.

This will take you to their sermon page.

Once there, click on the image for the video you want. Then you will see a button below the streaming video labeled “Get This Video”. That’s where you will see all the options.

    Enjoy!

I like your blog BTW. I don’t always get time to come by and comment, but it’s in my feed reader!

Don’t feel bad. I missed that little button for a long time too!

For anyone who is wondering… lew is talking about a link in the left sidebar called “What’s the deal with Jesus?” and it takes you to a short video I posted there.

I thought it was a shame that no where on my site was there a complete gospel presentation and I found that one and posted it.

    ha ha please.
It is a shame that there isn’t usually a complete Gospel presentation at most of the churches that I’ve visited during my Church Field Tips that I report on on my site.
We’ve had a bit of discussion on the definition of the Gospel because of my comments on these churches “falling short”.
