Steven Delopoulos - Give Him a Listen

Steven Delopoulos

Anybody remember Burlap to Cashmere? Well, the lead singer (if there really was one) has done some solo projects and it’s some really good stuff. He has kind of a folk rock vibe. His guitar playing is excellent but it’s his voice and lyrics that really stand out.

Recently I have been getting frustrated with the bulk of Contemporary Christian Music because the lyrics seem so shallow. Maybe it’s that I’m getting older and therefore my expectations have changed. Whatever the reason, I’m really digging this guy.

He has made some of his music available by free download. Click the image to get it. I’ve uploaded these mp3s to the music player (look at the top of the page) on this site so that you can preview it.

Let me know what you think in the comments. Am I the only one who likes this guy?

That’s good music! I’m sure you’ve heard of Derek Webb - he did much the same thing by offering his music on free downloads.

Yeah, I’ve been a fan of Derek Webb (including what he did with Caedmon’s Call) for a while. I know he and Steven Delopoulos have done some touring together. That would be a great show.

Thanks for the link Ben. I love Steven’s music and find it introspective and uplifting. He is just a very talented artist. Glad to see he is going back on tour this spring\summer with his buddy from Burlap.
